The Tarbolton (Reel)
The Tarbolton is a great Trad Irish reel which was recorded in a set of three tunes by Michael Coleman in 1934. This tune is likely of Scottish origin and is many times associated with the Tarbolton Lodge in the Scottish county of Ayrshire. This tune is played out of the key of Em, and it's a great tune choice for a beginner to intermediate-level player. See The Longford Collector for the second tune in this medley, and The Sailor's Bonnet for the third tune. Kevin Burke walks us through his version of the tune in this lesson...Check out the tutorial videos below!
