That is great Casey, I’m looking forward to seeing your arrangement of it. Also looking forward to Whiskey Before Breakfast, that is one of the standards we play at jam sessions. Between you, Hanneke and Kevin there are so many good lessons it’s hard to decide what to work on. Working on the advanced lessons has really helped me get better. People…[Read more]

Well, I see that it did not get on there. The name of the tune is “Say old Man can you play the fiddle”
Guess I should check my post closer.
Thanks, also I’m starting to work through the advanced lessons for several of the tunes. There is a real quality to the way you have arranged the tunes and the lessons are great. You got some chops man.

This is one that I’m sure a lot of folks would like to see you teach Casey. I know I would. It’s a great tune.
This is my second year on the site and the better I get the more I can appreciate just how talented all of you are.
Thanks for all the great lessons. Keep-em coming.
Happy Fiddling.

I recently attended a string clinic by Tomastik, where they explained how strings are made and what kind of sound they produce. So after consulting the rep and my luthier who is also an outstanding fiddler I decided to try tomastik vision solos.
So far I love them. I also learned that if you change strings to a string that is a different diameter…[Read more] -

I started with dominant then went to Helicore then to Zyex then back to helicore. It seems they have the sound and feel I like on my fiddle. (1870 Mittenwald) Plus they seem to hold up well, the Zyex (A) string shredded soon after install and again after it was replaced by my violin shop at no charge so I switched back to Helicore. But I’m not a…[Read more]

Ron Davison replied to the topic Any suggestions to improve fiddlevideo.com??? in the forum General Fiddle Forum Topics 10 years, 2 months ago
Hello Casey, I am new to the site and I am very impressed with the quality of the instruction. My suggestion for improvement is to add a loop feature to the video so when I’m trying to learn an advanced technique or phrasing I can loop it and let it run so I can play along with just that section without putting my fiddle down and backing the…[Read more]
