Hanneke Cassell is scheduled to teach at the Boston Harbor Scottish Fiddle Camp Aug. 14-20. I dearly wish I could go, but a family event will interfere. I have become quite attached to both Casey and Hanneke as a result of watching their videos repeatedly and would follow them around if I had time and money.

For Scottish style, I highly recommend the Boston Harbor Scottish Fiddle camp, held on a beautiful island in the harbor. I attended last year for the first time and it was great fun. Learned a lot and the people were so warm and fun-loving. It’s a camp for all ages. My beginner classes were a bunch of over 50 year olds. The advanced players were mostly young.

Another New Englander checking in from central Vermont. As Roland and Chuck40 said, talented fiddlers and eager novices are everywhere. I’m in the latter group. Old time, Scottish, Irish, Cape Breton, and Quebecois are all lively here.

I’m happy to hear that Hanneke will be recording more lessons. I would suggest more traditional dance and session tunes, but there are some very fine newer songs being written as well. Since she is the Scottish fiddle expert, I will leave the choices to her. Hanneke is a superb performing artist–I was fortunate to hear her in concert a few months ago. Fiddle Video is the best resource on the Internet. Many thanks to Casey and everyone involved.
Best, Carole
All of a sudden, I can’t get the sheet music either. Mac 10.7.5/Safari 6.16. The message says “too many redirects.”
I should add that I love this site! The resources are of the very highest quality and very helpful. Many thanks to the entire team.
