Nice tune w/ cross-tuned fiddle. Those simple melodies are sometimes the best! I think this would be a great tune for an Appalachian type player…I’ll keep it in mind for a future session, especially once/if we get an Appalachian-style instructor on the site….

Hi, Annie. Best to luck as you tackle those double stops. Not easy!
Thanks for the suggestions…consider them added to the running request list which is reviewed by the instructors prior to each recording session…I bet Patti knows that Calvin tune…she might choose to record it!
All the best!

Sounds good, Shawn. Both of those lessons are now out for review to Hanneke…I think she’s overseas for a bit…
It might be a week or two before she has time to give feedback, but they’re almost ready to go!

Hi, Eddyfiddle.
For now, the easiest way to get back to a lesson you’re working on is to just bookmark/favorite that lesson page in your browser. You might also try the search bar in the main menu of all pages…that would be a quick way to sort based on title.
Hope that helps, and all the best!!
Cheers!

You bet, Ringlets.
The version I taught starts in the key of F like the original composition and then modulates up to the key of G with twin fiddles…I think you’ll really like it. Stay tuned!!

Glad you like the tune, Mary.
I composed it for my niece, Katelyn, and played it for her wedding back in 2017.
I hope to hear you play it someday!
Cheers!

Hi there, Mark and thanks for joining up!
Yes – I’d focus on the beginner tunes first, but one nice thing about how the lessons on this site are set up is that there is a basic melody tutorial for even advanced tunes. So if something catches your ear, you should be able to at least pick up the bare bones of the tune.
The techniques section is…[Read more]

Dang – that’s a cool title. Definitely added to Hanneke’s running request list…we need to get her back in the studio for another session.
Good news is we still have a bunch of lessons from her last session to produce – two of which are out to her for review right now as a matter of fact: Coilsfield House and My Love She’s but a Lassie Yet.…[Read more]

Hi, Gayle.
That sounds like no fun at all. I would second Roland’s suggestion regarding the PT…stretching is really important even when not recovering from an injury – I’d say it’s even more important for you right now. All the best in your recovery!!
