I know you don’t know Bob from Adam….but you could send it down here and Bob will set it up for you as a fiddle. He works with a couple of fi…[Read more] -

Hi Casey. I was able to open my other websites that I’m on on a daily basis. Yours is the only one that I’m having problems with. I was on for a short time this morning and did not have problems.
Yes, I was presented in both Foxfire and Safari with a message: Safari cannot find the server. Hope that helps. I will keep you updated if I…[Read more] -

Hi Casey….Thanks for your response. Today between 1200 – 200pm…I was not able to get on the site. Then I was busy until now and was able to get on at around 4:45pm. This morning, I tried with both Safari and Foxfire and was unable to get to the site….so not sure if (‘m the only one having problems or are others still experiencing some probl…[Read more]

Hello WS….Great that you get to try out the fiddle….not sure what they are asking for it but I’d give them an offer if it sounds like what your looking for. The two ebay listing that Bob found in a search history were both under $600. The other one on Ebay still has not sold because people are wise and do their research in the the Ebay his…[Read more]

Hi Roland….LOL…that’s so funny how you describe WS foray into the Used Fiddle pile of vintage instruments. It is fun though but a hard disease to to fit with no cure in sight! There are literally so many used fiddles out there…what’s a person to do. I swear…my husband is a fiddle and bow junkie. I never know what UPS, FEDEX, USPS or any…[Read more]

Good Morning Fiddle Nerd Friend!!!! Well this is very interesting what you turned up about the Vegas guy. I will show that to Bob when he gets home this afternoon. As for the one you show on Craig’s List…Bob would probably tell you that the arching (top and bottom plates) are not the best. If you look at the image, #7 and see how the top is r…[Read more]

You Did it!!!!!!! Thanks WS for setting this up. Flashnews: So Bob received this incredible violin into the shop a few days ago for restoration and setup. Unbelieve in workmanship, beautiful, golden-honey colored varnish, incredible choice of tone woods…..the vote is in. The tone of this fiddle is like a 1714 Strad I played on several y…[Read more]

Yes, I agree….it’s fun to look and research. BTW, that Geronimo B. fiddle (like the you tried at the shop up there) did not sell on Ebzy for the listed price of $750. When Bob texted the guy he said that he did research on it and the last one sold for $1,500 in 2010…hog wash!!! Two just recently sold on Ebay for 435 and 550. Now he has…[Read more]

Hi WS…this is Bob. While the roth factory used some different labels to get around export restrictions, like Enrico Robella, Jacobus Hornsteiner, Oscar E. Meinel, they still had an ovoid brand inside and the labels were Roth looking (borders, etc) and were the same models as Roth labeled (style copied, year). Very few violins with the above…[Read more]

A COUPLE OF SUGGESTIONS TO PAT WILEY’S REPLY.
A GOOD VIOLIN BOW HAS TO FIRST OFF WORK WITH YOUR PARTICULAR VIOLIN. BOWS AND VIOLINS ARE SYNERGISTIC AND NOT JUST ONE WEIGHT OF 60 GRAMS IS GOING TO WORK WITH YOUR VIOLIN AND IT’S SETUP. WE HAVE A SHOP HERE IN THE SAND DIEGO AREA OF SOCAL AND MY HUSBAND RESTORES VINTAGE BOWS. WE FIND THAT…[Read more]

Hi Casey or Roland….new to the website and techno challenged…where on the site is there some information on using the loop feature? How do I activate it? At the video? Kind of lost on all this…but know it could be a real great thing for me to try on some of the tunes I would like to learn from Hanneke’s videos
Thanks in advance.

Hi Roland….sorry I have not answered your post. Boy,have I missed out on some good “stuff” here. Ulla, thanks for that link too…we are going to explore that one! Hi Casey and others. Yes, the D’Addario, Kaplan (newer generation of synthetic core) strings the Vivo and the Amo are exceptional strings for fiddles. Medium tension strings. The Vivo for darker instruments too, “lighten’s” them up a bit and Amo for brighter instruments to bring them to a more mellow tone. Various results, use at your own…[Read more]
