I have to say this news is AWESOME!! Both with new stuff from Hanneke and the chop lessons. Chopping is a definite art -as with the likes of Casey Driessen, so I’m super-anxious to see what Niall shows us. Folks around where I live just don’t get it. It’s not just a downbeat, it turns the violin into a groovy percussive instrument. It’s the groove that makes a song great. Hanneke knows this. I’m even looking to buy a bodhran because I love exploring this groove thing. Chopping takes the violin to a new level in my eyes. Oh, I’m so looking forward to this!
This sneak peek was very thoughtful of you to post for us… and is much appreciated. I’m loving this style. Both are great songs, the second one was an unexpected surprise (beautiful new favorite). Thank you, Casey!
This is great news! Thanks, Casey. It probably goes without saying, but I have a small but relevant (petite mais pertinente) question… will his lessons be in English?
Wow, we get to vote?!!! Can’t pass this opportunity up.

Andre’s stuff is new to me and intriguing… and, I suspect, a real challenge.
You could try a fiddle mute. I don’t have any experience with them, but it may change the volume enough for them to leave you alone. Also, just a thought – keep playing with someone ready to reward them when they are quiet with treats – hard to howl and eat at the same time…lol.
