I’m with you !!
I love this one, also called “Glasgow reel”.
I like this version especially : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7nze0aRetU (tune starts at 0.27)

Hey, guys. That’s so cool! I had someone play this tune for me about 25 years ago and they wanted me to record it…but I remember it as “Tamblin”. I’d sure like to hear that recording today!!
It’s definitely the same tune I used to know, but the version in my head is a little bit different on the second part. It seems like this tune was described to me as a contra dance tune. Thanks for posting this…it’s on the list of possible lessons for when I get back to recording. But I think I should learn the second part as it was actually written!!

Sabrina – thank you for sharing the link, very nice playing! So nice to have you cheering in!
Casey – cool to hear that Tamlin is sparking you up, yay!
Here is the link to the site where I came across on the tune. There is sheet music besides the recording from their jam sessions: http://www.whiskeyjamkc.com/tune-list
This is a friendly jam session group’s (around Kansas City) web page and no registration etc. is needed. There is lots of other goodness for fiddlers on that site too.Tamlin has some special charme and I find the fingering particular hard to figure out (I am a total beginner) and they play it way tooooo fast. Hopefully we’ll see it here 🙂

Hello Sylvia,
Thanks a lot for the link, didn’t know this one : good stuffs in there, i’ll definitely keep it in my favorites.
Yes, Tamlin’s fingering is kind of difficult, especially the first part with the cross-bowing : you must keep your fingers on the fingerboard while playing .
On cello, there is this version that i particularly enjoy : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0ELNJA_B2U (her name is Ilse de Ziah, she’s fantastic)
I wait for Casey’s version !!
Kind regards,
Sabrina-
