Hi Ulla, I’ve seen that story and over the years have been interested in this evaluations on historic and new violins. I think the tests I like the best are the ones where the violinist also is blindfolded so they don’t subconsciously alter their skillful playing. Over the years I’ve observed that new instruments are as desired and appreciated as the old ones if they have a beautiful sound. So the ears are always still the best judge and I’m sure the debate will continue. Thanks for posting… Roland
