Colonel Thornton (Reel)
Colonel Thornton is a three part Trad Scottish reel. Hanneke Cassel's version of the tune was influenced by the Cape Breton playing of Buddy MacMaster and Trad Scottish playing of Alasdair Frasier. The tune is modal, with the first and second parts favoring Am and the third part played mostly in A major. This is a great tune to add to a set of reels and strathspeys for live performances...and it's a fun jam tune as well! Hanneke walks us through her basic and advanced arrangement of the tune in this lesson module...Check out the tutorial videos below! Sign up today to take advantage of the whole lesson.
