What did I do? I think I just made a thread is all 🙂
That’s pretty cool though.. downside to something like that is that the sound will get into your head. It will infect you and nothing else will suffice *evil laugh*
Pretty cool to find something legit these days.. Will be waiting for updates.

You Did it!!!!!!! Thanks WS for setting this up. Flashnews: So Bob received this incredible violin into the shop a few days ago for restoration and setup. Unbelieve in workmanship, beautiful, golden-honey colored varnish, incredible choice of tone woods…..the vote is in. The tone of this fiddle is like a 1714 Strad I played on several y…[Read more]

Thought I’d just start a new thread, so the other one doesn’t get too long.
SInce, I have to pace myself with playing.. as some carpal tunnel/tendonitis has reared its ugly head >:( Apparently my new hobby is digging around for stuff.Whilst digging around on Ebay looking for names to research.. I came across…[Read more]

Hi Peter, I’m curious how that rhythm might be affected or change for different kinds of beer, like a 7.8% RPM from Bend and the kind that Casey and I attest as the best. Cheers. //;-) Roland

Also – I just remember hearing a Celtic guitar accompanist saying that you can say the following words to a slip jig, “buy the band a beer, buy the band a beer, buy the band a beer”. (Specific instructions – say the five words over about 1 second and repeat = a fast slip jig)
If you preform, it works well as a teaching tool to get the audie…[Read more] -

Some of those strumming patterns are insane. The boom-thunk is about the limit of my ability. I was about to learn “Waiting for the Dawn”, as its become one of my favorite songs… I thought “Well, Waffle.. you’d better learn the guitar part so you can teach Mom et. al. back home”.
Took all of two seconds and I was like “Nope”
I can’t wrap my…[Read more]

I’ll up-vote Peter’s comment, seeing as how (1) he’s one of the best guitar players I’ve ever played with, (2) he recorded the guitar tracks for all of Hanneke’s work and some of mine on this site, and (3) he’s my awesome brother!
Kevin had a response for you, Rob. He may log into the site to post it…alternatively, I’ll just copy in his…[Read more]

I’ll put my two cents in here. It’s difficult for me to count to nine while playing so I absolutely agree with Roland – just try to imitate it to start with and then you’ll get the feel for it.
In Short, don’t count. Feel. -

It’s ok with the guitar player if it’s ok with the song writer.

Hey Casey
Im new to fiddling and learning Bethany’s Waltz so I can play it for my bride to be as she walks down the aisle on july 16th. Am I able to download the guitar track and use it as accompaniment to cover up all my mistakes and also not infringe on any copyrights by using it this way? If so can you let me know how I can download it.Thanks gus

Hanneke Cassell is scheduled to teach at the Boston Harbor Scottish Fiddle Camp Aug. 14-20. I dearly wish I could go, but a family event will interfere. I have become quite attached to both Casey and Hanneke as a result of watching their videos repeatedly and would follow them around if I had time and money.

I saw that buyout go up. I messaged him a few times asking some questions during the last 10 minutes of the auction and then I let it run down. I was hoping it would come back up lower.. but I think he took it as “ooh someone is interested.. lets jack the price!”
EDIT: Im curious what another barnabetti sounds like compared to the one I played.…[Read more]
