Howdy, guys.
Couldn’t agree more with the comments. We stopped putting the intro bumper on newly produced material last year, so all of the new videos coming out will be without any intro wait time. And I have plans to re-master older content in the future. But until that happens, I fear your mute button/skipping 15 seconds in is the solution.

Yes. Totally sick of it and very happy to hear something different at the beginning of Andre Brunet’s video.
I usually just skip past it and start after it’s over, but that’s a tiny hassle I would love to see gone.
I too love this site, but I can catch a brand in half a second and would appreciate something much shorter beginning the videos.…[Read more]

Anybody else tired of hearing the intro fiddle licks at the beginning of each and every video. I’d rather get on with it. That being said I love this site and I do have a mute button.

OK, folks. We wrapped Hanneke’s session tonight. The final listing of tunes recorded is below. It will be a while before guitar tracks are cut & production finalized, but here are the lessons you have to look forward to on the Fiddlevideo website from Hanneke in the future:

Is Jimmy’s Favourite Jig eligible for Canadian competition. It has to be a Canadian composer. I found out that Jig Magill was born in Ireland but he belonged to the Manitoba Fiddlers, so did he become a Canadian?

Hi Serita,
I’ll be glad to pas this on to Casey and I would be surprised if this tune wasn’t on the to do list. Thanks for your suggestion and I’m sure Casey will consider this popular tune for the future, if it’s not already on the list. Thanks for the suggestion. Roland

Casey, could you please teach us Clarinet Polka? It seems to be a popular competition tune and it think it sounds super fun to play. I’ve attempted to learn it off of iTunes reccordings, but the shifting and double stops are making it tricky to figure out without a proper tutorial. I would really appreciate it 🙂

I’d love it if you would check out my second “Tunes and a Chat” video featuring Jim Flett, a guitar player from my town of Winnipeg. Jim co-wrote some tunes you may be familiar with – the Maytwayashing Waltz that is one of my lessons, and the Teardrop Waltz that was my very first Casey Willis video I saw on YouTube a few years back.

Kevin Burke taught a tune at the group lesson in Urbana, Il Feb 19, this year. When someone asked the name he said something about it translating to ” Little Donkey” or something close. My teacher and I are playing it, learning from the video of him playing , but we would like to know the real name. Does that sound familiar to anyone?
Otherwise if…[Read more] -

Hi Telln,
Great to hear you were able to see Master Kevin in person. He is truly delightful & is also a master of the gift of gab. We were lucky to have him visit Bend Oregon about 10 years ago and we really enjoyed the workshop and stories. Also great to hear you’re enjoying music in your senior years, So fiddling on Sir!. Best Roland
