HI! Would it be possible to know what kind of setup André Brunet is using to get his consistent sound with footwork? Looks like some kind of particles board with a microphone. Is there an empty space underneath the top layer? Any kind on cushion or anti slip system of some sort?

      Thank you very much!

      Guillaume,
I saw Andre perform at Wintergrass in Seattle earlier this year.
While, the videos on Fiddlevideo highlight his talents, I was completely blown away to see him live.
He really has tremendous rythemic skills and sings wonderfully and of course he is a wonderful fiddler.

The board he used looked like a piece of plywood with a frame to raise it off the floor. So that it would resonate. Then he miced it with what looked like an SM 57 microphone. No taps on his shoes.

Perhaps you can send him an email and ask him directly. You can google him, find his website, andrebrunet.com He has a contact template you can use to contact him.

Let us know if you learn anything.
      Thanks
      George
