  1. Free muffins and free root beer! Your tutorials are interesting, knowledgable and they have lots of good humour!… It’s a pleasure to be learning from you.

  2. Hey Megan, I don’t know if you will read this or not but this video really helped me. I am a seasoned player that came out of a bluegrass, pop, classical, Irish background and I moved from a city to my rural hometown to care for my aging mother. There are very few fiddlers in this area and so I slowly but surely have been taking on permenant weekly gigs. These gigs are all classic country and country. I didn’t know how to kick off a song save the life of me because I thought I needed to know the song. Holy cow, this was a life saving video. You are right. I play every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights with bands. All I can say is thanks so much. What I could not figure out in 18 months, you helped me to learn in one short video. Great video!

    • Hi! I didn’t get over here to read it until now, but hopefully you’ll see this reply. I am beyond delighted that this video helped you in such a tangible way. This is why I do what I do – and thank you for making the switch to care for your mom. I can’t imagine how challenging that would be and I’m glad you have had some fiddling to do to help bolster your spirits.

  3. I love the down and dirty! Just the facts ma’m!!! Well done!

  4. To me Megan Lynch Chowning absolutely has been the very best addition to Fiddle video instruction, I learned so much from her tutorials from A to Z Thanks , Megan sincerely Jon Baldock

  5. This video seems like an excerpt..is there a complete lesson on turnarounds?

    • Hi, Peter. Sorry to hear of the issue…our hosting provider recently migrated our servers and it has resulted in logged in subscribers seeing a cached, logged-out page. We’re working with our hosting provider to resolve this issue.

In the mean time, please clear your web browser cache and log back into the website. You should then see the subscriber content. Again, I apologize for this issue. I’ll email you as well.

  6. I watch these over and over and stopping and playing along has helped me so much. ok, so all that, but I gotta ask…. where do you get your shoes??? or , Shoe, as it were . they are so cool- :).

    • I have been waiting for 3 years for someone to make this exact comment. Thank you Deborah. ; ) I am wearing only one brand of shoes in all these videos – Fluevog. I do not have a Fluevog endorsement but I’d be open to one if they’re reading this, ha! They are a Canadian company and I have quite a few pairs of their shoes. I think they’re so interesting and they’re beautifully made. My mom helped me pick these out a few years ago when I visited the Boston store. They can be pricy though, so I wait for sales and have also bought some on Poshmark and eBay. Also, I’m really glad you’re getting something useful from the videos, you know, musically…
